The Blogger Social Event

On April 7th, I attended 'The Blogger Social' event hosted at The Tape, London. It was hosted by the Creative Gal Gang as a Social Media networking event. There were around 30 Instagram Influencers who were selling some of their clothes which had been gifted to them through PR, so pretty much all of the items still had tags on and were majorly discounted. Honestly imagine buying Missguided 'New In' items for £4 when the original price would have been £30.
Everyone who attended was given an alcoholic beverage and there were cute canapes being carried around the room.

The Tape, London was a lot smaller than I would've expected but still a quirky venue.

Everyone I met was super lovely and so open regarding tips and tricks to grow your following. Influencers such as Kate Hutchins and Sherri Webster were so lovely to finally meet after following them for some time.

Halfway through the day, there was a talk which was hosted by @nimiblackwell 118k, @uptownstyleblog 20.9k and @kelseyinlondon 46.6k. It was so interesting to listen to these girls who are influencers as their full-time profession and how dedicated they are to their cause.

@kelseyinlondon recently doubled her following in the last month due to creating her own version of the 'Get to know me' templates which took the Instagram influencer community by storm. I believe it only takes 1 chance of major exposure to really make something of your blog/Instagram. It may take a long time or take no time at all but if you're dedicated to it then that chance will find you eventually.

Harvey Nichols Beauty Event

On Wednesday the 7th March, I was lucky enough to be invited to the Harvey Nichols Beauty Event which they hosted in their Manchester store. It was labelled as a Beauty Event master class and I was so intrigued by what might be available there. The event ran from 6:30pm until 9pm. This was the first event I had been invited to so I was literally so excited to go and experience it.

Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world.

Each brand had prepared a stand/masterclass section where you could watch makeup artists doing looks on either models or customers, giving tips along the way. There was also a free glass of prosecco which is the cherry on top of any night.

I was surprised to see so many stands offering samples of healthy snacks and drinks, vegan chocolate and marshmallows (also a massive bonus).

At the end of the night, we received goodie bags from Harvey Nichols to my complete surprise. I was so overwhelmed by the number of products I received and am so grateful, so thank you Harvey Nics!

So excited to try the new Benefit Bad Gal Bang mascara, after there was sooo much hype around the launch of this product. Including taking all the top influencers and bloggers to the Maldives! I'll be sure to do a review on this mascara, seeing as my eyelashes are basically non existent.
Products Left - Right: Bad Gal Bang Mascara, Firm it up eye serum, Hoola Quickie Contour Stick, They're Real Mascara, Pore-fessional Primer

Benefit galore! The cutest gift from Benefit, including the Pore-fessional primer! I must be the last person on the planet who hasn't tried this but I've heard amazing things.

I also received the Benefit Hoola Quickie Contour Stick, which is said to be a cream - powder, can't wait to give that a go!

Fenty Beauty Cover Match Stick - Sand (shade)
Also received my first FENTY product! So excited to try this Cover Match Stick, in the shade 'sand' which is perfect as it's the shade I am when I'm tanned.

Over the moon, I received some edible gifts too, including 'Nibble protein bites' which are made from all-natural ingredients and are super filling so they're great for an on the go snack you can just chuck in your bag on the go. Also, I have a thing for flavoured chocolate, this 'Pana Chocolate' is so amazing and your healthier option for your favourite guilty pleasure.

Finally, the amazing array of samples I received from each brand was amazing, including skin care, perfumes and makeup. Can't wait to try all these out and see if I want to purchase the full size of the items!

Once again thank you so much to Harvey Nichols, I was blown away by their generosity.

Beginning to create a blog post schedule to be able to post more frequently!

Thanks for reading,

Rio Ferdinand's Rosso

Getting used to a new place is a lot tricker than I first thought. Not knowing what restaurants are good, which clubs you'd like and overall, just where you want to spend your free time. That is exactly how I felt when I first moved to Manchester. The only way is to try things out and form you own opinion, and google a few locations of course.

When my boyfriend first came to visit me, we decided to go for a nice dinner. His friend recommended Rio Ferdinand's Rosso. I gave it a quick google search and the photo's looked beautiful. It was extremely close to where I lived and the menu looked amazing too.

The first impression was that it was extremely posh, bearing in mind that I hadn't really researched what the atmosphere would be like beforehand. The dress code during evening is definitely smart casual.

They often have different entertainment throughout the busier nights of the week such as saxophone players or a violin group. Saturdays often have a dj making the restaurant a lively atmosphere.

They offer mainly Italian specials but they have an incredible grill selection, which is my go-to every time.

ANTIPASTI SHARING PLATTER (ANTIPASTO MISTO)
Sharing plank of finest Italian cured meats, marinated vegetables, mushrooms, olives, deviled egg with anchovies, luxurious cheeses and breads
FILLETO 8oz (227gm)
Dry aged prime beef fillet, Portabello mushrooms sauteed with onions, grilled tomato, hand cut chips

Now since moving to Manchester, Rosso has quickly become one of my favourites. I've continued to return there for the atmosphere and food. So if you're ever in central Manchester then I would highly recommend.

'Rosso's opulent and mirrored interior is housed in a beautiful grade II listed building, placed at the head of King St gives way to a new rising scene of cocktail bars. Set against the backdrop of one of Manchesters finest spirit collections the menu boasts creative cocktails fusing classic concepts with new world execution all with their own sense of Italian panache.' - www. rossoresaurants.com

I also couldn't resist a pic in the toilets because they are just as gorgeous as the place its self.

February Spotify Playlist

I've created a Spotify playlist filled with 20 songs that I'm currently loving. I'm hoping it'll be a monthly thing, mainly so I can look back and see what I was listening to throughout the year. But also for you to have a look and see if there's any new material you might like or want to start listening to.

Currently, my favourite artists are; partynextdoor, Jhene Aiko, dvsn, Drake, Miguel
(so that kind of vibe)

I mainly listen to R&B but 'what I like' changes almost everyday.

For the month of February, in the spirit of Valentines, my playlist is quite 'love-y'.  Maybe next month it won't be so much, but I just thought I'd keep in the mood.

Use the link to take you to my playlist on Spotify or use the screenshots to see what I'm listening to.

Mornings with the Redroaster

Redroaster located in my home town of Brighton began as your local cute cafe. Until word got around that it was probably the most instagram-able place in the centre of Brighton, all the way down to their toilets.

To me 'aesthetic' is monochrome and greenery, and that exactly what Redroaster is.

The atmosphere is calm yet vibrant, often with individuals tapping away on their laptops with coffee in hand. Not to mention their modern spin on the english breakfast. The venue is bright, allowing so much light into the room, which creates a clean and sophisticated look.

It's located at the bottom end of St James' street. If you haven't had a chance to visit yet you definitely should, I'm still yet to try out the evening menu but it's 100% on my list.
